Dr. Eric Giesler Expands Scope of Practice at Urology Team

The Urology Team is excited to announce that Dr. Eric Giesler has expanded his practice to include daVinci robotic urologic surgery for his patients diagnosed with prostate cancer. Prior to joining The Urology Team in September 2008, Dr. Giesler had been performing robotic urologic surgery since shortly after it was approved by the FDA in 2001. At The Urology Team, Dr. Gielser joined Dr. Richard Chopp and Dr. Randy Fagin to round out our team of prostate cancer experts. Dr. Giesler has worked closely with Dr. Fagin, an internationally known daVinci robotic surgeon, to accommodate the needs of our patients diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Dr. Giesler has been passionate about the treatment of prostate cancer since his grandfather was diagnosed with it over 20 years ago. His father also dealt with this cancer, which has motivated him to specialize in the various medical options available for treating this disease.

His patient care philosophy is that of a team approach. He believes the combination of his expertise, participation by the patient and the patient’s family, and collaboration with the primary care physician are invaluable for a successful outcome.

Along with daVinci robotic surgery for the treatment of prostate cancer, Dr. Giesler also has vast experience performing laparoscopic and robotic surgery on the kidney and bladder. His practice also includes general urology for both men and women, Erectile Dysfunction, male sexual dysfunction, vasectomies, minimally invasive treatment of kidney stones, and HIFU for prostate cancer.
