Dr. Bryan Kansas

Dr. Bryan Kansas, M.D. joined the staff of The Urology Team in August 2006. Dr. Kansas did his undergraduate work at Louisiana State University. He earned a Master of Public Health at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. He then graduated from Louisiana State University Medical School in Shreveport, LA. His general surgery internship was performed at Wake Forest University Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC and he completed his general surgery and urology training at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
While at Temple University Hospital, Dr. Kansas gained vast experience in the treatment of complex kidney stone disease and diseases of the kidney. He also has intricate training in the treatment of both benign and malignant renal tumors via open and laparoscopic approaches.
Dr. Kansas has special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of bladder cancer, specialized training in the placement of penile prostheses for erectile dysfunction, treatment of post-prostatectomony or male incontinence, and the treatment of Peyronie's disease or penile curvature. Dr. Kansas is also certified by Laserscope to perform KTP or Green Light laser Therapy, prostatectomy for BPH. He has performed approximately 75 laser prostatectomies as of November 2006. Dr. Kansas is also certified in placement of the InterStim® sacral nerve stimulator device for refractory overactive bladder. Dr Kansas also oversees our Sling and Sphincter program for Men with Incontinence. He is a Sub-Investigator on selected research. Dr. Kansas was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and was raised in New Orleans.
