Dr. Richard Chopp

Dr. Richard Chopp, M.D. is board certified by the American Board of Urology and joined The Urology Team in 1983. He attended medical school at The University of Minnesota. His internship and residency were both at the University of Southern California, where he served in various capacities, including adult service, general urology, and renal service. He was Assistant Professor of Urology at the U.S.C. Medical Center. In addition, he has served as a Special Fellow in Urology Oncology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
He is a member of various professional societies, including the Society of University Urologist, the New York Section of the American Urological Society and is a member of the American Urological Association. He has been extensively published in professional journals. He introduced Laparoscopic urology surgery to Austin in 1991. Dr. Chopp is affiliated with all major hospitals in Austin.
AREAS OF SPECIAL INTEREST
Dr. Richard (Dick) Chopp is well known in the Austin community for performing Vasectomies. He also enjoys treating patients with metabolic evolution of kidney stone disease, male endocrine urology disorders, prostate disease and Peyronie's disease. He has extensive laparoscopy surgery experience, is on the transplant team and performs Living Donor Nephrectomy. He is a Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator on selected research.
